Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a well established M&E Contractor based in Warwick who are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance and Aftercare Manager to join their company.
As a business, this company works on multimillion pound contracts in the West Midlands for top tier Main Contractors. They are now looking for a Mechanical Maintenance and Aftercare Manager to support the Major Projects team post contract and manage and grow the Small works and Maintenance division, working alongside their existing Electrical Small Works Manager.
This is a relatively new role for the business and you will also manage defect repairs following project completion and oversee current planned maintenance contracts, while continuing to promote and secure further contracts with new and existing clients.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
* Planning resources, including materials, labour, and sub-contractors.
* Creating maintenance schedules and organising labour accordingly to programme.
* Managing mechanical defects to completion.
* Conducting site inspections and identifying maintenance needs while ensuring quality and compliance.
* Supervising maintenance staff and ensuring safe work practices.
* Producing costs for follow-on/extra or remedial works as necessary.
* Scheduling minor on-site repairs based on client instructions.
* Scheduling contractors for major repairs as instructed by clients.
* Discussing maintenance concerns with clients and communicating with maintenance staff.
* Developing maintenance budgets and discussing contracts with clients.
* Controlling and monitoring inventory.
* Coordinating work by specialist sub-contractors.
* Raising purchase orders and invoices, logging defects, and maintaining administrative procedures.
* Growing the business area to include new clients and maintaining current relationships.
Additionally, there will be a requirement to manage some Small Works projects on the mechanical side in conjunction with the existing electrical maintenance/SW department, involving site visits, scope assessment, cost estimation, and project management if successful.
Experience/Requirements:
At least 5 years of relevant construction mechanical industry experience in installation or maintenance, with knowledge of building quotations/estimating and reading drawings. Good customer focus, organizational skills, and staff management ability are essential. Qualifications such as HVAC certifications or apprenticeship experience are required. Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and a positive outlook are important. A relevant trade CSCS card is also necessary.
Package:
Salary: £45-50K depending on experience.
Westfield Health Cash Plan, NEST pension, laptop, PPE, and corporate clothing.
Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, office and site-based.
