Your role and responsibilities
As part of our growth plans, we have several new opportunities for highly motivated, ambitious, and driven Engineering graduates to join our Process Automation Service Team. The successful candidates could come from a range of disciplines including Automation, Electrical & Electronic, Computer / Data Science, or similar STEM foundations. You will be joining an experienced team who will support, mentor, develop, and prepare you for an exciting career with ABB. In this role, you will work with the hardware and software that monitors and controls industrial equipment, assets, processes, and events (Operational Technology). You will support and deliver our Portfolio of Services across our entire Installed Base of process automation and safety equipment, engaging with a wide variety of clients across multiple market segments. These roles will be based in St Neots and will require travel to our UK offices and customer sites (both on and offshore).
Main Accountabilities - Responsibilities, Tasks & Interactions:
1. Commitment to learn and develop your understanding of ABB's Industrial Automation systems and services.
2. Willingness to grasp and drive your understanding of ABB's cyber and digital portfolio.
3. Working collaboratively with our UK and European team of specialist engineers and stakeholders, you will support and deliver lifecycle services for the operation and maintenance of ABB's Control System products.
4. Regular onshore / offshore site visits to conduct Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance activities.
5. In delivery of modifications, you will assist with the design, engineering, integration, verification, and validation testing of solutions using in-house reference systems.
6. Participate in all aspects of the ABB UK Graduate development program.
7. An interest in Energy Transition and Sustainability.
Qualifications for the role
1. A degree in Automation, Electrical & Electronic, Computer / Data Science, or similar STEM foundations.
2. You will have a willingness to learn and ability to innovate.
3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. A self-starter with the ability to work on his or her own initiative, plan well and follow through to task completion.
5. Be flexible and prepared to travel to customer sites.
6. Manage customer expectations and deliver high-quality solutions to all ABB customers.
7. Have working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, Industrial Networks and Cyber Security - desirable.
8. Have a basic software programming background - desirable.
