The role supports the Rheumatology team. The role holder will be key in improving patient experience by providing support, information and reassurance to patients throughout their diagnostic pathways.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a person with excellent administrative and communication skills and a flexible approach to work. You should be a strong team player with the ability to work in a calm and methodical way whilst being able to multi-task in a busy environment.
You should be keen to develop new skills with a view to delivering excellent patient care. You will need to be able to prioritise a demanding workload, whilst retaining a positive outlook and a willingness to support your colleagues.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general education with GCSE or equivalent in English at grade C or above
* ECDL
* NVQ level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Care of equivalent
Experience
* Experience of using a full range of IT/Patient administration systems
* Experience of patient administration work in an NHS setting
* Previous gastroenterology admin experience
Skills
* Experience dealing with customer complaints and customer care
* The ability to prioritise tasks effectively without direct supervision
Knowledge
* Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard
* Knowledge of NHS service provision including the pathway of care and RTT
* Knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
* Understanding of medical terminology
* Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets e.g. PAS, Excel or similar applications
* Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection principles
Personal Attributes
* Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
* Evidence of ability to prioritise workload and work without direct supervision
