Applications are invited for the above full time post for this 660 bed acute hospital serving a local population of approximately 400,000.
The main responsibilities of the Locum Consultant will be as follows:
· Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the care of all patients presenting to the hospital
· To share with colleagues, the management of Obstetric and Gynaecological patients requiring admission
· To undertake duties as defined within agreed job plan
· Teaching and training of intermediate grade and junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students
· To undertake duties as defined within the agreed job plan
· To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit
· To have responsibility for and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD)
· To participate in on-call rota providing specialist and timely advice
Opportunity has arisen for an Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant with a special interest in Gynaecological Oncology mainly at Luton hospital which is part of the newly merged Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a 12 month locum post with interest in Gynaecological Oncology .The post holder will be expected to support our consultants in delivering comprehensive care to women who attend the department.

As a result of this, the successful candidate may be required to adapt their job plan in the future to work across more than one site within the area; this may also include delivering aspects of care in community settings which supports the Trust’s vertical integration strategy.
