Family Law Paralegal
* Annual Salary: £28K - £32K
* Location: Orpington
* Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00)
We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Paralegal to join a great law firm in the Orpington area. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for family law and is looking to further their career in a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will assist with case preparation, client communication, and legal research, contributing significantly to our client services.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Assist attorneys in the preparation of cases, including gathering and organizing client information.
* Draft legal documents such as petitions, summons, and affidavits under the supervision of a lawyer.
* Conduct legal research and compile data from various legal resources.
* Communicate with clients to keep them informed about the progress of their cases.
* Schedule appointments, court dates, and maintain attorney calendars.
* Prepare briefs, wills, contracts, real estate closing statements, pleadings, appeals, and other legal documents.
* Liaise with court officials, other paralegals, and other law offices as required to coordinate legal activities.
* Maintain and organize files to ensure accuracy and completeness of legal documentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a paralegal, preferably within family law.
* Strong understanding of legal terminology and principles relevant to family law.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal database software.
* Paralegal certification or degree in legal studies preferred.
