Role: Therapeutic Education Practitioner
Location: Newton Abbot
Contract: Full time, 08:30 - 16:30, term time only
Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)

We are recruiting for a Therapeutic Education Practitioner to join a specialist educational and wellbeing setting that focuses on helping young people feel safe, secure and engaged in learning. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to combine teaching and therapeutic support, working closely with students on a 1:1 basis to plan and deliver tailored educational sessions that meet their emotional, behavioural and academic needs.
The Role:
As a Therapeutic Education Practitioner, you will:
* Plan, prepare and deliver tailored 1:1 education sessions, adapting learning to meet individual needs for post-16 students
* Create a nurturing and structured environment to help students engage with their education and develop confidence
* Work closely with therapists, teachers and SEN specialists to align learning with therapeutic goals
* Monitor student progress, behaviour and wellbeing, keeping accurate records through CPOMS and daily reports
* Liaise with families and professionals, including social workers, CAMHS and occupational therapists
* Support the development and review of risk assessments and contribute to EHCPs
* Work with students on an outreach basis when required
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in teaching, SEN support, therapeutic education or mental health interventions
* A strong understanding of emotional and behavioural needs and how to respond effectively
* The ability to plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons on a 1:1 basis
* A commitment to safeguarding, professional standards and continued learning
* The ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including therapists and educational specialists
