We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join the Enterprise Team at UCLPartners to help us to deliver our exciting industry-facing portfolio of work.
The role is an opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of inter-disciplinary experts to help our health system partners (in primary and secondary care) to develop and embed cutting-edge innovators and innovations to make healthcare safer, better, and more efficient.
The role is suited to someone with commercial and innovation experience in the healthcare space. Healthcare innovation is an exciting but challenging and fast-changing space so you'll need to be resilient, proactive, and above all comfortable navigating uncertainty and ambiguity.
Main duties of the job
The Commercial Manager will work in the Enterprise function as we are the front door to industry and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). We focus on engaging with industry and SMEs to create partnerships and collaborations with our health system partners (trusts, ICBs, PCNs, etc.) to support the adoption and spread of proven innovations into the NHS.
The health system is facing unprecedented challenges and we want to be at the forefront, helping our health system partners through innovation. This means that we work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a high degree of uncertainty. This role is suited to someone that excels at navigating through uncertainty and ambiguity and is comfortable pivoting their work to meet changing needs.
We're able to deliver this work through our commission from the Office for Life Sciences (OLS). Therefore, a key part of this role is the accountability for the OLS commission.

* Support the Enterprise Manager on the reporting and assurance functions.
* Identify and evaluate bid and grant opportunities (for innovators and our health system partners) to support innovation initiatives, contributing to the development and conceptualization of project proposals. Where appropriate, working closely with the Senior Commercial Manager to:

* Proactively drive (and where appropriate, lead) collaborations and projects with health system partners, industry, and other stakeholders to support high-impact innovation development from research to implementation, with support from the wider Enterprise and UCLP team.
* Leverage your commercial acumen to act as subject matter expert on specific projects and pilots.
* Drive progress and assurance by deploying project management tools and methodologies.
* Collaborate with our NHS partners, industry, and other stakeholders to capture and share learnings to support innovation development from research to implementation in the form of reports, webinars, and showcase events.
