Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals' mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Psychologist to join our team in North Yorkshire.
As a Senior Psychologist you will work in partnership with The Police, The National Probation Service, HM Courts & Tribunals Service, Drug and Alcohol Support Services, and the wider Liaison and Diversion Services. You will lead a therapeutic team which has the primary goal of improving health care outcomes and reducing reoffending for those who are experiencing mental health difficulties.
Location
This role is based at Beverley Magistrate's Court.
Hours
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday mornings) during core business hours.
Salary
This position is full time and you will receive a salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience.
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role; offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the job
As a Senior Psychologist you will:
* Deliver treatment through a descriptive national MHTR pathway, under the supervision of the Lead Psychologist, focusing on provision of brief psychological interventions for difficulties such as low mood and anxiety, within a relatively complex population. This includes service-users with significant trauma histories, learning difficulties, neurodevelopmental conditions, and those who have attracted a diagnosis of personality disorder.
* Lead a team of primary care practitioners to oversee and complete initial assessments for the service to identify areas for treatment delivery for individual therapeutic interventions.
* Make appropriate recommendations or provide a clear rationale for declining the appropriateness/suitability for an MHTR and provide information to Probation in the pre-sentence report.
* Develop evidence-based clinical interventions bespoke to individuals' needs, oversee service evaluation projects, supervise junior staff and work closely with probation officers, who act as the lead professional for the case and take part in post-sentence case management meetings.

Qualifications and skills required:
* Accredited postgraduate qualification in clinical, counselling or forensic psychology conferring eligibility for HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist.
* Evidence of foundation training in at least 2 evidence-based psychological frameworks i.e. CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR.
* Supervisory Training ISW or equivalent.
* Knowledge of evidenced-based psychological therapies relevant to managing mental health distress.
* Understanding of complex mental health/neurodevelopmental and substance misuse issues and presentations and the role of trauma on offending behaviour.
* Understanding Trauma Informed Practice.
