About the role
We are looking for a dedicated Teacher of Computer Science to join a secondary school in Leeds. This part-time position focuses primarily on teaching GCSE and ideally A level students. The role is to commence after February half term.
The school's goal is to provide a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every student feels valued and supported. Position Details
* Location : Leeds
* Contract : Part time role
* Pay Rate : £150 - £223 per day (UPS rates will be considered)
Essential Requirements
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* A passion for teaching and inspiring students in Computer Science
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
Skills :
* Strong subject knowledge in Computer Science
* Strong communication skills to engage and inspire students.
* Ability to contribute innovative ideas to a team and department.
* Strong IT skills, including using educational software
* Knowledge of exam board specifications for GCSE and A-Level Computer Science
* Building a positive rapport with students and colleagues.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Creativity and innovation to support student's practical learning.
* Ability to provide constructive feedback to students and parents on progress.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.
* Inspire and motivate students to develop a love for Computer Science and achieve their academic potential.
* Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on students' progress.
* Develop and implement effective schemes of work and lesson plans.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Computer Science curriculum.
* Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring high standards of attainment.
* Participate in departmental meetings, sharing best practices and resources.
* Engage in professional development to keep up with emerging trends in technology and education.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
