An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Housing Options team for a Housing Policy & Projects Officer. The main purpose of the role is to provide support the Principal Housing Options Manager in the development and delivery of the key strategic elements of the Homeless Strategy Rough Sleeper Strategy and action plan. To take the lead role in project management and support the development of new homeless support projects including consultation with key stakeholders. To monitor performance of commissioned homeless service contracts to ensure contract compliance and meeting performance outcomes including value for money. The postholder will also be responsible to provide updated statistical information to senior managers Homeless Forum and elected members on progress. The role will also be pivotal in supporting the and development of local policy across the Housing Options Service, taking into consideration the Housing Policy context, statistic evidence-based research (both nationally and locally) and best practice.
This post is temporary for 24 months with a possible extension subject to funding. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, working Monday-Friday 9-5. This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall
The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
You may be required to undertake Standby duties to cover out of hours work.
For internal applicants, this role will be considered for a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to. When this role comes to an end, the successful internal applicant will return to their substantive role.
