The newly created Service Managers role is the operational lead for Brent Councils Front Door Service and safeguarding Team and will focus on delivering improved outcomes for our residents. The Post As Service Manager, you will be leading a team of professionals, responding to those in need of social care support and taking appropriate interventions as required. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Head of Service with the strategic development of the service. This includes building upon and developing the partnership work overseen by the Integrated Care Partnership. The post holder will also be supporting the operational running of the newly formed front door and Access service and the Adult safeguarding and DOLs Unit. They will work alongside the existing Service manager for our newly formed neighbourhood teams. The service is transforming and is trailing a new ways of working and approaches to delivering care to our Brent Customers, You will provide technical expertise, support and supervision for the operational Team Managers and their respective Deputy Managers as required. There will be opportunities to lead on projects to improve service delivery, systems, and integrated ways of working. The Person We are looking for a leader who can demonstrate a high level of expertise in working with people with complex social care needs in the community. You will need to be a qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, with significant post qualifying experience in a statutory Adult Social Care setting and have comprehensive knowledge and experience of adult operational safeguarding services. You must be confident to lead with compassion but be able to deliver creative and innovative solutions. Along with a solid understanding of the issues and challenges faced by local government, you will have the skills to establish and sustain positive relationships across the system, building trust and confidence, while sharing in our values and inspiring colleagues at all levels of the organisation, forming collaborative relationships across the partnership As the Service Manager you will provide leadership and management supervision to the Managers team members as required, including attending and contributing to multi-agency forums to develop and nurture relationships within the Local Authority and across partnership agencies. You will also have a commitment to staff wellbeing and reflective practice. You will provide regular supervision and help to create a team culture of learning alongside attending leadership sessions to broaden your own leadership and practice knowledge. The ideal candidate will be dynamic and analytical in their approach and demonstrate their ability to manage competing demands. You will lead and develop social work practice and continue Brent’s journey to in-bed strengths-based practice. Your role will also include contributing to developing practice within the service and providing mentoring to colleagues in the wider Assessment and Intervention Services.
