Post Title: Roads Inspector
Location: Inverness
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Fixed Term for 23 months
Salary: HC05 - HC06 - £27, - £33, (Depending on experience) - See Job and Person Specification.
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose:
1. To survey and map roadside trees.
2. To identify trees that are dead, dying or dangerous and require works.
3. To liaise with Area teams, contractors or landowners over organising works.
4. To update the asset management database with information
5. To create sustainable and achievable processes for the Roads Service.
6. Assist in implementing changes relating to policies, procedures and processes.
7. To assist in producing a strategy for the management of trees within the
Highland Council’s adopted road network.
8. Assist in establishing a prioritisation process for the management of tree
works.
9. To use a computer aided drawing package such as ArcGIS or the asset
management database to produce maps and statistical information.
10. Assist in producing contract documentation, reports, maps and PowerPoint
presentations

Requirements
HNC/ HND/ Degree in an arboriculture or a related discipline.
Professional Tree Inspection certification or equivalent, or ability to obtain such.
Valid driving licence. You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively
between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational
requirements of the Service. This is likely to include overnight stays throughout
Highland.
