GSL Education are seeking a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a dynamic school in Scunthorpe. You will have the opportunity to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on their academic journey, ensuring they feel valued and empowered in the classroom. In this full-time role, you will work alongside teachers to provide tailored assistance to students, helping them engage with their learning in a supportive and inclusive environment. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will contribute significantly to fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, and achievement for all students, enabling them to realise their full potential. Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN. Assist teachers in adapting and delivering lesson plans to meet individual student needs. Support students in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills. Create a positive, nurturing atmosphere that encourages active participation and confidence. Help students maintain focus and engage with the curriculum during lessons. Monitor student progress and report on their development to teachers and SEN staff. Assist with personal care and mobility needs, if required. Foster positive relationships with students, acting as a mentor and role model. Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and school staff to provide comprehensive support. Ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are adhered to. SEN LSA Requirements: Prior experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting. Any degree in Education, Psychology or in a relevant field. CACHE Level 3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or childcare certification is desirable. Experience in working as a Learning Support Assistant is needed. A caring, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to different learning needs and classroom environments. A proactive, resilient attitude, with a willingness to contribute to the team and learn new skills.
