We have been assigned by one of the UK's more prestigious NHS Trusts to help them recruit a Consultant in Gastro on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months to join their successful Gastro department.
Our client provides acute and complex services and a range of outpatient, diagnostic services. In 2019, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated their services as 'Outstanding,' and they are one of the best performing Trusts in England. They have received various accolades, including the Health Service Journal Acute Trust of the Year award 2021 and the National Patient Safety Awards winner.
The appointee will be joining the current team of seven Consultant Gastroenterologists, two Gastroenterology Specialty Doctors, two Nurse Endoscopists, six Upper GI Surgeons, and seven Colorectal Surgeons. The successful appointee will be asked to fulfill various duties, such as:
1. Participate in the Gastroenterology on-call rota 1:8, including services for upper GI bleeding.
2. Providing OPD services in gastroenterology.
3. Providing diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower GI Endoscopy.
4. Care for inpatients on a specialty-based ward (predominantly gastroenterology/IBD/hepatology).
5. Participate in governance, quality improvement, audit, and teaching.
6. Opportunity to develop sub-speciality skills.
