A great opportunity has arisen to join the Bristol WORKS service in a new role as a team leader. This is a full time fixed term post with the potential to become permanent. This role will be supporting the WORKS team to design and develop high quality and meaningful experiences of work for young people from priority groups.
About Us:
We are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people across Bristol by providing support to help them access education, employment, and training opportunities.
As a team leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how we engage and support young people (11-16) within special, mainstream and alternative learning provisions.
You will be engaging local and national employers to design high quality CEIAG sessions to help inspire young people about next steps and positive pathways.
You will need to be an enthusiastic and resilient person who is able to prioritise workload and work to targets. This is a very exciting and unique role whereby we are always looking for creativity and innovation to help explore new ways of engaging employers and schools to inspire the future generation about the world of work.
Area of Operation Management
1. Proactively manage the lead delivery officers in the team to ensure standards and targets are met.
2. Ensure compliance with funding regulations (BCC, DfE, Combined Authority etc)
3. Lead the delivery of high-quality services and develop best practices. The post holder will be overseeing reporting for some of WORKS’ key projects.
4. Monitor data collection and inputting to maintain quality standards.
5. Monitor service quality and implement improvements.
6. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
7. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives including self assessment reports and the generation of future funding.
Staff Management and Support
1. Oversee direct reports' development and performance.
2. Provide regular coaching and mentorship.
3. Offer day-to-day support for staff.
4. Facilitate individual and team development through various methods.
5. Take corrective action when necessary and ensure action plans are implemented.
Service Development Work
1. Lead and facilitate service development initiatives.
2. Develop and implement inclusive programs for marginalised communities.
3. Contribute to organisational and city-wide priorities.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
