I am a 10-year-old boy who is funny, imaginative, charming, busy and neurodiverse. My interests include swimming, music, café/church visits and playing on my ipad (especially Minecraft). Additionally, I have some quirky special interests that I love to share with others, and I enjoy conversations with adults!
I can get scared, and refuse requests/demands when I’m not feeling in control of a situation or something goes wrong, but I can’t put these feelings into words. Consequently, I show you I’m worried by behaving in a way that can be challenging, such as shouting, taking control or occasionally hitting out. I may appear confident with an amazing memory and vocabulary but am often anxious and hypervigilant of my surroundings. I like to know what I am doing for the day, and I can only handle one task at a time but need someone who can also be flexible depending on my needs/how I’m feeling on the day.
Someone who has plenty of energy to keep up with my frequently changing ideas and join me on adventures at home and in the community would be great. An experience of working with additional needs would be beneficial, but an open mind and willingness to support me in the way that helps me is essential. I’d love someone who could play games on the iPad or Switch with me!
These are some of the things that help me:
Mum will happily discuss my additional needs in more detail and provide informal training/discuss supportive strategies that help me with PA’s interested in the position.
