Vocational Learning Tutor, Workbridge Design, Technology and Engineering Location: Northampton Salary: From £26,200 per annum Hours: 37.5 per week (full time) About Workbridge Workbridge is a vocational education centre that is part of St Andrews Healthcare. It provides education services and a vocational recovery pathway for people with mental illness, learning disabilities, ASD and brain injuries, in which they can gain valuable vocational skills and build confidence. Our valued service users comprise of adults with complex mental health needs who either reside at St Andrews Healthcare, or who live in the community with their families, carers or independently. Design Technology and Engineering: The DTE hub concerns itself with the solution of real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts and covers subject areas such asArt, Science, Construction, Technology, Physics, Maths, Chemistry and IT. Through engaging in DTE in our fully equipped areas, we support our learners to develop a broad range of skills, and understanding relating to: Communication, Creativity, Problem solving, Self-Management, Teamwork & Leadership. The DTE hub aims to develop creative, empathetic, critical, independent and self-reflective individuals and support them into appropriate future placements, be those voluntary or in employment. About the Role: Reporting to the Vocational Educational Lead for your hub, you will work with internal and external peers and be responsible for the design and delivery of person-centred learning projects that meet the needs of our adult learners who present with a range of mental health and learning needs. Alongside the team, you will contribute to creating conducive environments for learning to help learners to achieve their potential in gaining life skills, vocational skills and employment. As part of the role, you will be designing personal development plans, capturing evidence and assessing progress against vocational outcomes. In addition, you will be contributing to progress reports and conducting learning reviews to assure the relevance and quality of the learning delivered. A bit more about you As a subject matter expert with occupational competency in the field of education you are teaching within, you will ideally hold a Learning & Development Qualification at Level 2 or Level 3 with an English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 or above, or be willing to work towards these qualifications. You will be an upbeat, positive person, confident in designing and delivering a range of engaging and inspiring project based sessions that develop individuals according to their needs. Digitally literate, you will be comfortable with construction, engineering and may also have CAD / Design experience. Most importantly, you will be creative, flexible and have a growth mind-set, able to turn your hand to a range of activities, displaying an empathetic and flexible approach in facilitating learning.
