Vice President, Sanctions Screening Operations - Training & Controls Improvements Lead

We're seeking a future team member for the role of VICE PRESIDENT to join our GLOBAL PAYMENTS - SANCTIONS SCREENING OPS/INVESTIGATIONS team. This role is located in MANCHESTER (UK) - HYBRID.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
* Develop & provide training to teams involved in reviewing and decisioning sanctions alerts and investigations on Sanctions matters - in line with policies, procedures, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
* Review operations performance on an ongoing basis through metrics, KPI, KRI, and appropriately adjust training to continuously improve.
* Provide expertise in the area and have a thorough knowledge of the Sanctions Screening process and adhere to Compliance and regulatory guidelines.
* Identify and resolve a variety of potentially high-impact issues through applying Subject Matter Expertise and evaluating complex business processes, systems, and industry standards.
* Relationship management - working with Sanctions Compliance, Operations, Technology, Product, Risk & Control to improve the experience for all stakeholders and clients.
* Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff, maximizing their own contribution, professional growth, and ability to function effectively as a team.
* Responsible for achievement of function goals. Ensure the team is equipped to operate and attain team goals.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation, safeguarding its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
* 8+ years of relevant working experience (preferably in related roles).
* Subject Matter Expertise in the Sanctions screening domain.
* Demonstrable knowledge of key global Sanctions regulations (US, EU, UK).
* Broad understanding of sanctions designations and investigations.
* The candidate must be highly self-motivated and high performing.
* Must be able to handle all levels of complexity in their domain and collaborate with multiple teams.
* Demonstrated line management experience in Operations; project management skills will be an added advantage.
* Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
