About the Role:
As a Planner, you will play a key role in the successful execution of construction projects by developing, managing, and updating project programmes.
Working closely with project teams, you will ensure smooth sequencing, risk mitigation, and compliance with NEC contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and manage project programmes at various stages, from concept to construction.
2. Work closely with site and contract management teams to create short-term and long-term schedules.
3. Collaborate with design teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners to coordinate project sequencing.
4. Produce phasing plans, site layouts, and traffic management strategies.
5. Attend meetings to provide progress updates and strategic planning insights.
6. Identify potential risks and opportunities, providing mitigation strategies.
7. Support commercial teams with entitlement, delay, and disruption programmes.
8. Mentor and support junior planning staff.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Qualifications:
1. House building experience is essential.
2. Construction-related degree (preferred but not essential).
3. Prior planning experience within a main contractor environment (projects up to £25m).
4. Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and programme outputs.
5. Proficiency in Asta Powerproject (MS Project experience is also beneficial).
6. Familiarity with NEC, ICE, and JCT contracts.
7. Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
8. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
