As a Disability Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create an inclusive and nurturing environment. Your commitment and expertise will help empower students to overcome challenges and engage fully in their learning.
Disability Support Worker Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one support to students with disabilities, fostering a safe and encouraging atmosphere.
* Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring all students are included and engaged.
* Implement individualised support strategies to address the unique needs of each student.
* Monitor and document student progress, offering feedback to teachers and contributing to personalised support plans.
* Collaborate with parents and staff to ensure consistent support for students both in and out of the classroom.
* Participate in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in disability support.
Essential Qualities We Are Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with disabilities; prior experience as a Disability Support Worker in an educational setting is preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with students and staff.
* A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to supporting students in overcoming their challenges.
To Work with GSL Education as a Disability Support Worker, You Need
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years.
* An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
