Job summary We are offering a fantastic opportunity to join North Shropshire CMHS as a Senior Assistant Psychologist. You will support the systematic provision of brief psychological therapeutic interventions, and contribute to this developing role; including using outcome measures and evaluating the service. You will also support the service Leads and other experienced clinicians within the service, offering a psychology perspective to case discussions and influence treatment options. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, assisting with clinically related administration, use research skills for audit and service development and research within the area served by the team/service. This exciting role offers the opportunity to develop and deliver community group interventions. We are also requiring the successful candidate to offer one to one interventions, offer psychological assessments and formulate treatment plans, with support from the teams Clinical Psychologist. You will be encouraged to promote and maintain good working relationships with clients, their families and other external agencies, in line with the Trust values. You will need to commit to office based workings and expect to be traveling into the community to meet with Clients when delivery interventions. Main duties of the job Under the clinical supervision of a qualified psychologist, undertake assessments of personality, beliefs, attitudes, behaviour, emotional function, other relevant psychological characteristics and dimensions and factors relevant to the development, maintenance and understanding of the client's difficulties. This may be using standardised psychometric instruments, protocol based assessment tools, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and structured and semi-structured interviews as required. To utilises assessment techniques directly with clients and collects information from family members and others involved in the client's care as appropriate. The successful candidate will offer group and individual psychological interventions to people living with serious and enduring mental health conditions. You will be exploring and discussing risk and be supporting a wider risk management plan.
