Job Title: Cosmetic Repairers
Salary: £23,000 - £30,000 OTE Plus Bonuses
Locations: Honiton, Tiverton, Okehampton, Cullompton
We are in search of "hard surface cosmetic repairers" ideally with a Fine Finishing background (e.g., Vehicle Repair and Paint Technicians, Factory Furniture Sprayers, Factory Metal Finishing Sprayers). Candidates must be able to operate a spray gun, not be colour-blind, and possess a fine eye for detail. A background in cosmetic surface repair in the building trade is a bonus. Training will be provided for those with less experience, with opportunities for advancement within the company.
The client encourages applications from those without experience in fine Cosmetic Repairs, as long as candidates are willing to learn. Ideal candidates may include experienced Chefs or detail-oriented Cleaners.
Service Area: Our service stretches across Somerset, Devon, Cornwall, and parts of Dorset.
Customers: Major national house builders, regional house builders, small sole traders, plumbers, kitchen fitters, electricians, bricklayers, local authorities, universities, schools, MOD, care homes, hospitals, private homeowners, manufacturers of doors and windows, etc.
Desired Locations: Initially, Devon, including preferred areas: Okehampton, Honiton, Cullompton, Tiverton.
Starting Salary: £23,000, increasing to £24,000 plus bonus after the first year for a proven track record, then up to £27,000 plus bonus for higher achievers. For capable individuals, this job can pay £30,000 and more.
Hours of Work: Salary-based role with additional bonus after the first 12 months. On-site for 8:30 AM, completing up to 8 hours of work per day. Work hours may vary based on distance traveled and work completed.
Driving: Distances vary from 5 minutes to approximately 1.5 hours to and from site locations. A van and fuel will be supplied and paid for by the company.
Uniform: Supplied (except trousers, which must be black or navy blue, not jeans).
PPE: Supplied by the company.
Company Van: Issued for business use only, fitted with a tracker and fully kitted with all materials and equipment after the first two weeks.
Company Mobile Phone: Issued during the first two weeks of training.
Company Credit Card: Issued during the first two weeks (for company fuel purchases only; all other purchases must be email authorized by a manager).
Bonuses: Monthly bonus system commences after 12 months of service, subject to performance. New customer sales bonus and new site bonus commence immediately.
Holiday: 21 days per year plus bank holidays.
Pension: Standard workplace pension (government state pension with top-up).
Sick Pay: Unpaid, at the director's discretion.
Requirements:
1. Must not be colour blind; mixing of colours is a common requirement.
2. Comfortable working at heights (ladders, tower scaffolds, fixed scaffolds, etc.).
3. CSCS Card holders: This can be arranged during training, with a small fee for the card and touch screen test.
Basic Training:
1. First two weeks: Classroom training, mostly practical in-house training, delivery of equipment, and understanding of methods and materials.
2. Third week: 4 days with a trained technician followed by one day on own.
3. Fourth week: 3 days with a trained technician followed by two days on own.
4. Fifth week: 2 days with a trained technician followed by three days on own.
5. Sixth week: 1 day with a trained technician and four days on own.
