A Marine Design Engineer plays a crucial role in the Marine industry, ensuring that all products and processes meet the highest quality standards. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for 3D modelling, conceptual design to Modelling, 2D modelling, Design to manufacturing, material selection. Apply now Work Experience Work Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in structural analysis, with significant exposure to marine equipment or structures. Responsibilities: Production of design documentation and supporting assessments, acting as lead author where appropriate Development and delivery of designs in accordance with the design process (Start-up, Concept, Scheme, Detailed and Implementation phases) and relevant legislation Provision of advice, as directed by line management, on the implementation and maintenance of design documentation and compliance with relevant codes, standards and legislation Carry out detail design activities to meet the requirements of design to manufacture Required Skills (Technical Competency): Proficient in 3D CAD package for both modelling and drawing, ideally Solid Edge Ability to interpret and create high quality engineering CAD models and manufacturing drawings, including GD&T Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation and maintenance of pressure/pipework systems Knowledge of the design lifecycle Experience in designing mechanical components, parts, assemblies and subassemblies in Marine Industry knowledge about subsystems that impact the mechanical design / layout of the design Candidate should be familiar with structural design practices and methodologies, including significant structural redesigns Requirements: Degree in structural engineering or a related field. Previous experience in a similar role within the Marine industry. Experience in Marine engineering industry, Structure design, seats, materials etc. Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications: Degree in Structural Engineering or a related field. Certifications: Progress towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable.
