Specialist Tutor – Flexible Hours We’re seeking passionate, high-quality educators to join our team in delivering personalised learning experiences that make a real difference in the lives of some of the UK’s most vulnerable students, in the Middlesbrough area. At TP Tutors, we partner with Local Authorities to provide tailored, high-impact tuition to children who are often overlooked, including those who are Looked After, have SEN or SEMH needs, are out of school placements, have been excluded, or speak English as an additional language. We offer support across all ages and subject areas. Key Responsibilities Receive pupil referrals in your subject areas and choose how many you wish to take on. Manage your own schedule and communicate directly with carers to arrange lessons. Deliver engaging, one-to-one tuition either at the pupil’s home or in a local community space. Plan lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs and track their progress using our LEAP platform. Support pupils in building confidence, rekindling a love for learning, and achieving academic success. Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or substantial tutoring/classroom experience. Experience working with children in foster care, or with SEN/SEMH needs. Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting children's growth. Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning needs Enhanced DBS check and references required. Safeguarding and Prevent training (provided if needed). Pay & Benefits Competitive hourly rate of £25–£30, based on experience and referral type. Weekly pay.
