BANK Housekeeping Assistant Based across our London Hospitals. Full time 37.5 hours per week Part Time, Bank We’re looking for Bank Housekeeping Assistants to join our Hotel Services team based in across our London Hospitals. Please note, you must have the full right to work in the UK. No student visa’s will be accepted. As a Housekeeping Assistant you will be dedicated, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. You’ll be physically capable of performing manual tasks and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Excellent time management, communication skills, and a proactive attitude will help ensure success in this role. What you’ll do: Perform routine cleaning and sanitising duties throughout the hospital, including patient rooms, restrooms, corridors, offices, and communal areas. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained in all areas, paying special attention to infection control procedures. Use hospital-approved cleaning chemicals and techniques to effectively disinfect surfaces, minimizing the risk of cross-contamination. Collect and dispose of hospital waste, including general waste, clinical waste, and hazardous materials, in accordance with hospital policies and environmental health guidelines. Ensure that clean linens are correctly distributed to the relevant hospital departments and patient rooms. Operate cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and other specialised equipment, ensuring they are used properly and safely. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including gloves, masks, and aprons. Adhere to safety guidelines to prevent accidents, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both staff and patients. Report any shortages or needs for replacement of supplies. What you’ll bring: Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles, ideally within a healthcare or hospital environment, though training will be provided. Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, and chemicals used in a healthcare setting. Understanding of health and safety practices, particularly infection control, and the use of cleaning agents in medical environments. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively to complete cleaning duties. Good communication skills, able to follow instructions and report issues effectively. A professional, respectful, and compassionate attitude, especially when working in patient areas. Commitment to personal hygiene and following hospital dress code, including the use of appropriate PPE when required. Why HCA UK?
