You will be a key part of the learning process, supporting students both in the classroom and with individual needs.
Job Summary
In this role as a Learning Support Assistant, you will assist teachers in providing tailored support to students in Wareham, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop essential skills. You will work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis, offering academic and emotional support. Your role will contribute to creating a positive learning atmosphere where every student feels included and motivated to succeed.
Responsibilities
As a Learning Support Assistant, your duties will include:
* Providing one-on-one and group support to students with additional learning needs.
* Assisting in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities to support student progress.
* Helping students develop independent learning skills and promoting positive attitudes to learning.
* Supporting teachers in the classroom by preparing resources and assisting with lesson delivery.
* Monitoring and reporting on students’ progress and behaviour.
* Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* Experience working with children or young people, preferably with learning difficulties or disabilities.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students in a positive way.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
* A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
* Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3 or Learning Support, are desirable but not essential.
