Your new company
Our client is a privately owned SME that has experienced fast growth over the last 4-5 years and, as a result, has created the new role of Head of Finance to lead a small finance function and support the board in its future expansion plans.
Your new role
This broad role will report to the board and ensure appropriate financial controls and risk management systems are in place, while actively providing financial information and advice to support the strategic development of the business. You will lead a small finance team and manage the accounting and financial reporting, working closely with external accountants, continuously evolve systems and processes to ensure they remain efficient and effective. You will coordinate the budgeting and forecasting process in line with the strategic priorities and present financial performance and financial projects at monthly Board meetings, providing input on the financial impact of strategic decisions. As Head of Finance you will ensure compliance at all levels - assessing financial, tax and reporting compliance of all business initiatives, and adapt to changing legislation and work with the team to create commercial awareness across the business.

The successful candidate will be fully qualified with strong, positive communication skills at all levels of the organisation. You will work with a high level of integrity and ethics, have excellent attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities. Organisation and time management skills are required, as well as being commercially astute and business savvy. A growth mindset that allows the role and finance function to adapt as the organisation continues to develop is essential.
