Introduction
The Young Hearts service provides professional, confidential counselling, group support and community engagement to children and their non-violent primary care givers who have experienced or are experiencing family and domestic violence. As the Child Counsellor, you will provide professional counselling service including assessments, counselling and group work for children who have been exposed to or are victims of family and domestic violence as well as their nonviolent primary care giver.
This is either a full-time opportunity providing service across our Rockingham and Mandurah location or two part time opportunities working 0.5FTE each (1x working in Rockingham, 1x working in Mandurah) until 24 December 2027.
What You Will Bring
* Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline
* Counselling experience in working with children in a therapeutic setting utilising person centred, strength based and trauma informed approaches
* Group work experience with children and/or adults
* Skills in engaging clients from Aboriginal and other diverse cultural backgrounds
* Exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and hold a WA Drivers Licence.
