Hours of Work: Various hours of full-time work (41 hours per week).
As a Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you'll be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers’ homes.
This non-driver role is a great opportunity for those looking to develop their career in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will need to complete a 13-week Porter training programme and, once completed, you'll be able to successfully install products including wet connections, TV and Advance Audio Installations.
At the end of the 13 weeks, you will be assessed on the above elements to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Be an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with great customer service as your number one priority.
2. Help load up your lorry with the day's deliveries working alongside the warehouse team.
3. Demonstrate great respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handle unexpected situations to find the best possible solution for your customers.
4. Install products efficiently and quickly for our customers and demonstrate how they work once installed.
5. Keep up to date with new products and technologies to help you perform your role at your best.
6. Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience you'll need:
* Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (you will spend a lot of time delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses).
Desirable skills/experience you may have:
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
* Previous experience of the installation of white goods, building of furniture, or associated skills.
