Band 6 Salary Range £39,912 - £48,635 per annum plus

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a background in IT and an interest in science, or a science professional with an interest in IT and data, to join our multi-disciplinary Laboratory team. As a Laboratory Systems Information Analyst, you will support the department with the ongoing Scottish National LIMS project until the end of March 2026.
The department is the first Laboratory to go live with Magentus Evolution LIMS in Scotland as part of the national project. This role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience with this new system, which will be rolled out to 12 Scottish health boards over the coming years. Working alongside Biomedical Scientists and digital colleagues and national partners you will
* Manage and oversee laboratory information systems to ensure seamless operations and data integrity.
* Assist with documentation, validation, and verification of all changes/updates made to the LIMS.
* Carry out queries on laboratory data for statistical analysis, such as workload or turnaround times.
* Provide actionable insights through data analysis.
* Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in collaboration with laboratory staff.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
* Train laboratory personnel on effective system use.
We’re looking for
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related field.
* At least 1 years’ experience using IT systems in a UK based public sector environment.
* An understanding of laboratory information systems and data management.
* Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proven knowledge and skills within your disciplinary specialism.
* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mind set.
* Dynamic and enthusiastic approach to the role.
