Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us in the Cardio-Respiratory department as a Band 6 Specialist Respiratory and Sleep Physiologist. Successful candidates will be expected to work between both the Cardio-Respiratory department at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and the nearby Community Diagnostic site at Walton Hospital. Main duties of the job You will work as an independent practitioner within a multidisciplinary department; performing complex lung function testing and being a key member of our Physiologist led sleep disordered breathing service. The successful applicant will ideally be experienced in a full range of investigations including spirometry with reversibility, single breath gas transfer, lung volume measurements by body plethysmography, mannitol challenge testing and flight assessments. In addition you should have the ability to perform and report oximetry and respiratory sleep studies, and establish and monitor patients on CPAP/NIV therapy.
