Position:
* The VP SPC is responsible for overseeing and managing the commercial activities of AG through sourcing, procurement and contract management activities. They play a critical role in ensuring the profitability and success of the business through the introduction of category management and strategic tendering activities that improve contract and financial performance.
* The VP SPC works closely with various stakeholders, including Operations, Strategy and Business Development, AG Clients, and the wider Procurement and Contracts team, to ensure that commercial objectives are met, and risks are mitigated.
* Develop the SPC strategy inclusive of standards, policies, procedures and targets by sourcing category.
* Set strategic direction with suppliers, establish supplier qualification criteria, contract requirements, master agreements and associated documentation.
* Develop strategies for sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, productivity, contract management and customer and supplier relationships.
* Develop routine scorecard to set baseline standards for improvement opportunities (procurement plan).
* Closely link SPC performance with AG’s needs.
* Manage business process outsourcing activities through identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities.
* Develop and maintain effective current and new supplier relationships to support business needs including financial objectives, innovation, and risk mitigation.
* Establish strong partnerships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure capabilities, capacities, diversification, and scale support as per needs of AG.
* Build a cohesive global SPC team that drives the goals and success of AG.
* Identify new source opportunities by understanding current and future global trends, trade regulations, and corporate/brand strategies.
* Work in partnership with GAC team to settle claims and resolve issues.
* Contract execution i.e., change control notifications, key compensation events, communications and maintenance.
* Ensures social value and sustainability is a core element of the SPC Strategy.
* Leads SPC team for operational engagement with suppliers to access risks as they pertain to all of AG’s operational scope and develops recovery plans that mitigate impact(s) on service delivery for all key suppliers.
* Provide expert, ethical and pragmatic advice and support on commercial and contract issues which are generated by, or impact, the PAC function.
* Provide input into processes to store, maintain and manage contractual documents in collaboration with AG Legal.
* Leads strategic engagement with Top 20 AG Suppliers to develop C-Suite relationships.
Requirements:
* Experience in leading strategic SPC programs.
* Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Excellent supplier relationship management capabilities.
* Excellent managerial and people management skills - fosters team/individual performance, achieves results, sets targets and reviews against them, leads, motivates and empowers others, deals with issues, coaches and encourages others.
* Demonstrated strategic sourcing/procurement, contract & commercial management, stakeholder management, relationship management, and influencing skills.
* Thorough understanding of budgetary and sourcing principles, practices, and policies.
* Extensive knowledge of and experience with the CASG ASDEFCON suite of contracting materials.
* The capability to identify and mitigate commercial risks within the business unit, including conducting risk assessments, developing risk mitigation plans and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills to build and maintain strong relationships with AG Subsidiaries, internal AG capabilities and Directorates, and AG Clients. This includes effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
* Experience in active participation in business development activities, such as identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and negotiating contracts.
* Alignment of commercial objectives with the overall business strategy is crucial.
* Excellent organisational skills – plans well in advance, sets clear objectives, manages time/delegates, reviews progress against plan, ensures sufficient resources, encourages improvements.
Other information:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of proven and relevant business experience (including global experience) in Procurement, Operations, or Supply Chain Management.
