This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of waste projects at Sizewell A, enabling the safe retrieval and packaging of legacy operational wastes.
We are looking for a Project Engineer (Elec/C&I/Process) to lead in the development of robust technical solutions, from concept, through the commissioning phases into routine operations and beyond.
Initially, the role would be supporting the centrally led FED (Fuel Element Debris) retrievals design team, focusing on the early stages of the design process, before moving onto the delivery of site-based activities. Development and support for other site-based waste projects will also form part of the role.
Key Deliverables
1. Provide suitable engineering solutions for complex waste projects.
2. Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned projects.
3. Contribute to project documentation including design, safety case, and commissioning strategies.
4. Develop concept designs and fit for purpose engineering solutions for projects.
5. Produce and/or approve project technical specifications.
6. Manage detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards.
7. Carry out technical assessment/approval of contractors work instruction/method statements/risk assessments.
8. Provide technical supervision of construction/deconstruction activities to ensure compliance with design intent.
9. Specify and provide technical supervision of commissioning and/or decommissioning.
10. Manage handover to systems/operations ensuring that all drawings, instructions, and training have been supplied as required.
Qualifications
1. Appropriate HNC, (NQF Level 5); preferably degree level (NQF Level 6) or working towards (Essential).
2. Significant experience in practicing disciplined Engineering role on industrial plant (Essential).
3. Experience of fulfilling the CDM Designer role (Essential).
4. Knowledge/Experience in commissioning of industrial plant (Desirable).
5. Knowledge/Experience in Contract Management (Desirable).
Experience and Knowledge
1. The candidate must be a proactive individual with a proven record of delivering in a project team.
2. Travel to other locations will be necessary depending on the demands of the programme.

1. Successful candidates will be required to hold Authorisations commensurate with the role.
2. Candidates aspiring to this broad role with a suitable PDP will also be considered.
