YOUR ROLE
Our finance team based in Ashby de la Zouch have an exciting opportunity for a meticulous Financial Accountant where you will assist in producing accounting information for management, group and legal reporting requirements.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting into the Head of Financial Accounting you will assist in monthly and quarterly reporting across our multiple entities where you will post journals, prepare debt reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and support with the annual preparation of statutory accounts. You will prepare IFRS9 calculations relating to financial instruments and work closely with our property team to review cost save initiatives for ongoing forecasts and complete IFRS16 reconciliations which relate to lease accounting standards. You will assist the wider function with VAT reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, cashflow preparations and submissions, exception reports and reconcile the cost and net revenue between two accounting systems, reviewing anomalies and rectifying issues.
You will collaborate with the Finance Manager where you will ensure all internal controls are in place and assist with the implementation of accounting policies and practices to ensure the UKI team meet group compliance standards. You will prepare information for external audits and establish processes for accountancy and reporting standards, recommending and implementing improvements where needed.
In addition, you will also take accountability for reporting on payroll costs, associated disbursements, internal recharges, cross-charges and other staff related costs and reconcile the monthly PAYE payments to HMRC for all entities. You will set up payments in the bank ensuring approval processes are followed and monitor, manage and investigate accounting and reconciliations of inter-company cross charges.
If that doesn’t excite you, then you will also support the Head of Financial Accounting and the team with any ad-hoc projects or investigations ensuring that the team meet managerial, group and legal standards.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To be successful in your application you must be able to demonstrate proven financial accounting experience, ideally within a complex multi-layered organisation. You will be practiced in balance sheet reconciliation, journal posting, and reporting with a good understanding of audit processes and financial reporting standards.
You will be part ACCA qualified, experienced in IFRS16 and UK GAAP standards. It goes without saying that you will be a natural communicator, problem solver, influencer, and team player, capable of collaborating and building strong internal and external relationships across a wider range of stakeholder groups. You will be proficient in MS Excel, and it would be beneficial if you have experience of using SAP or JDE financial software systems.
