The key focus of this role is to use data to create useful and inspiring content for their customers. To really drive a compelling, engaging and relevant Comms/ Content strategy.
As Brand Data Journalist, you’ll be responsible for:
* You will be a central point person in the brands editorial forum:
o proactively identifying sales, consumer and pricing trends that might be interesting con-tent themes for interactives, blogs, PR customer comms, social
o reactively researching hypothesis and creative ideas from team to see whether sales da-ta supports the story
* You will understand the brands product offering inside-out, and understand how it com-pares and contrasts to competitor set so the team can identify and promote the strongest competitive product / offers
* You will examine and report on published data to identify new stories or provide context, analysis and news lines on the biggest stories of the day
* Work independently or alongside designers and developers to create compelling visualisa-tions and interactives
* Negotiate with public officials, businesses and academics for data and open records and gather information via Freedom of Information requests for our consumer champion strand of work.
Previous experience that will lead to success in the role:
* Passion, drive, curiosity, commercial acumen and a can-do approach
* The ability to visualise complex ideas in a clear, accurate and creative ways.
* You have strong analytical skills with experience in structuring, analysing and interpreting data to track performance and draw insights, with strong attention to detail
* You are curious and news hungry, able to make links between topical content and the brands offering
* You have experience working with customer / omnichannel platforms including GA4
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerBi or other data management tools
* You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Relevant first degree, or equivalent qualification
* A proven track record of telling stories with data in a news organisation, charity or brand
* Data analysis and visualisation skills
* Knowledge of web development programming languages like HTML/CSS and JavaS-cript is an advantage.
