About Us: School ICT is one of the largest independent providers of MIS support in the country. We currently offer support and consultancy services to over 1600 schools on a national basis. Due to our continued success, we are now recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join our busy team working at our head office.
Role Overview: As an Assistant Accountant, your duties will include managing the purchase ledger and sales ledger, performing balance sheet reconciliation, and assisting with month-end close.
Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be ATT qualified, in the early stages of CIMA/ACA or qualified by experience (QBE), with previous experience of Xero or similar accounting package.
You will be passionate about accounting, with previous experience working in an all-round finance role with a strong attention to detail. You should be able to work independently and have an aptitude for problem solving and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve services provided by your team.
Responsibilities Include:
* Purchase Ledger & Expenses: processing purchase ledger transactions across multiple entries.
* Sales Ledger and Credit Control: raising invoices and processing customer payments.
* Accounts and Reporting: performing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing VAT returns and assisting with year-end processes and audits.
* Process Improvement and General Support: streamlining financial processes and handling customer enquiries.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week. In return, we offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £32,000.
