Positon: HR Support Specialist Position: Status: Full-Time Program: Human Resources JOB SUMMARY The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organizations human resource department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Essential functions are duties, which are essential or primary to the position or the reason the position exists. An individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Assists in maintaining up-to-date files, records, and documentation. Serves as a resource to answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. Maintains and processes the results of all FBI/BCI criminal checks. Assists with new hire orientation and onboarding as needed. Serves as support staff for members of the human resources department. Responsible for the daily distribution of agency mail. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Secondary functions are duties, which are not exclusive of the position, can be performed by other positions; however, secondary duties are to be performed for the efficiency of The Counseling Center, Inc. 1. Assists with other department functions as needed and assigned. COMPETENCIES 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. 3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 5. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, INCLUDING TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE 1. High School diploma or equivalent. 2. Prior experience of payroll procedures and personnel records management preferred. 3.
