Marine Engineer
Our prestigious manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry is currently seeking multiple Marine Engineers to be responsible for the preparation, build, and installation of engineering systems in the Yachts, in line with the current drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Wroxham. Working Monday – Friday 07:00 – 15:30, paying a salary ranging from £22,984 - £30,160.
Our client offers flexible working, including:
1. Early starts from 06:30 to complete your 40 hours before a Friday.
2. Enhanced overtime rates for completing 40+ hours.
3. Additional ‘one-off’ payments over 45 hours (alongside the enhanced overtime rates).
Main Responsibilities:
1. Building and installing engineering systems on luxury yachts in build.
2. Supporting and collaborating with other trades during yacht build.
3. Preparing, building, and installing engineering systems in the Yachts, in line with the current drawings, specifications, and guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Qualifications required to perform the role:
Knowledge:
1. Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering systems including hydraulics, plumbing (domestic, marine, grey, black, fresh water), air conditioning, gas installations, engine/gearbox, and final drive installations.
2. Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering ‘best practice’ techniques or methodologies.
3. Broad understanding of the requirements for marine engineering installations within yacht or recreational craft.
4. Knowledge of construction techniques used in GRP boats.
5. Good understanding of current marine engineering technologies.
6. Good awareness of H + S requirements, guidelines, and best practice.
Skills:
1. Ability to build and install engineering systems in recreational craft.
2. Ability to work on own initiative and collaboratively with other trades.
3. Ability to safely use ladders, work on uneven levels, and in confined spaces.
4. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and written specifications.
5. Experience of metal fabrication including TIG welding.
Experience:
1. Been in a similar role within the previous 2 years.
2. Proven experience in fault finding and problem-solving.
