Vice President of Sales, Reuters Professional
An excellent opportunity exists for a seasoned leader as VP Sales, Reuters Professional. This is a newly created role that will report directly to the Head of Reuters Professional. The successful hire will lead the revenue generation process for the Reuters Professional business along with accelerating the growth of the business. The key driver for this role is creating a holistic view of revenue growth opportunities, driving the development and execution of a strategy to drive accelerated growth and new customer bases. You will have responsibility for leading sales across the Reuters Professional business including Reuters.com and Reuters Events, as well as Integrated Marketing and the Reuters Plus content marketing studio.
The role can be based in the U.S. or London.
About the Role
In this opportunity as VP Sales, you will:
Have demonstrated success in building, leading and motivating global sales teams to deliver innovative customer initiatives. You possess a proven track record in driving growth and innovation in and the ability to think through profitability while solving for market dynamics, customer needs, and the overall business strategy. You possess media experience, including digital advertising and events sponsorship sales. You will be a proven change-agent that works collaboratively with a leadership and sales team and will demonstrate a track record of sales success.
1. Leads Sales teams who are accountable for nurturing and growing existing client relationships across all regions across the Reuters.com and Reuters Events business globally, with a focus on digital advertising, custom content and event sponsorships
2. Builds and delivers the Sales strategy as part of an integrated approach.
3. Collaborates with general managers of Events and Digital to deliver and support these requirements
4. Owns the implementation of effective contact management strategy approach and leads a management team to ensure that salespeople are involved in regular engagement with clients, pipeline growth and ultimately over-achievement against sales target
5. Drives a high-level prioritization and program/resource management through management of sales force, driving high activity levels, pipeline management and forecast management
6. Facilitates coaching of Sales leaders to lead their salespeople to embed core sales processes and adopting new technology to drive team members to adopt new approaches
7. Coordinates across sales and account management teams to ensure proper scoping and coverages across regional geographies and account types
8. Manages and owns the sales pipeline of new business; maintain and develop existing customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods
9. Creates, defines, builds and executes the revenue growth strategy for the Reuters Professional business in partnership with the Head of Reuters Professional.
10. Manages the lead of marketing and custom content and their teams on sales and marketing strategies to enable revenue growth and diversification.
11. Ability to build a strategic Reuters Professional sales organization that represents today’s modern media landscape.
12. Identifies key skills and capabilities gaps in existing organization and hire / train / develop to drive performance.
13. Focus on growing all key metrics that comprise a successful revenue mix.
14. Identify new customer opportunities, ensuring best practice in closing long term revenue partnerships.
15. Grow new revenue streams in untapped global markets
16. Data driven approach in understanding customer sets, market trends, performance management.
17. Delivery of target financial and strategic objectives for the Reuters Professional segment (e.g. gross sales, PY growth); growth through cross-sell/up-sell, net new customer acquisitions, and product innovation
18. Develop workforce supported by active talent and succession pipeline; annual improvements in organizational effectiveness (strategic selling, client-centricity, customer approach, rapid decision making)
19. Accurate forecasting, customer evaluation and procurement reports; consistent achievement of sales quota, forecasted revenue, and unit targets; consistent update of all CRM systems / reporting on market and competitor activities
20. Presentations across internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development
21. Delivery of financial and strategic Sales OKRs for Reuters Professional
22. Continuous, measurable improvement in end-to-end distinctive sales customer experience
23. Distinctive propositions that can be clearly articulated and are a compelling buy for Reuters Professional segment customers
24. Build a trusted partnership with product and business leaders to influence the product roadmap to deliver on customer needs.
25. Drives customer engagement & loyalty initiatives & programs that engage, grow and retain customers
About You

28. Proven track record in scaling high growth media businesses
29. A track record of high revenue growth in sales in different regions of the world
30. Have consistently over-achieved sales quotas and targets
31. Minimum of 5-7 years Global Sales Management experience
32. Excellent communication and leadership skills, acting as an inspiration to their team
33. Highly networked and seen as an expert in their field
34. Commercially focused, with an entrepreneurial mindset
35. Ability to navigate and influence across the organization to drive to resolution and execution
36. Proven track record of successful organizational change management experience and ability

The target total cash compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $361,900 - $672,100. The target total cash compensation range in other locations may vary. This is inclusive of both base pay and any target sales incentive. Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
