Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
To collaborate with the Head of Department to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment within the Electrical provision, encompassing both classroom/workshop theory and practical instruction
Key Responsibilities
To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements.
* To plan and deliver an engaging learning programme that inspires and motivates learners on L1, L2 and L3 programmes to improve their knowledge, skills and behaviours in the Electrical field to meet the needs of the awarding body, and requirements of the industry to ensure job readiness.
* Producing plans of learning (schemes of work), lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning.
* Conduct regular assessment of learning through, observations, practical assessments, exam/assignment marking and professional discussions.
* Regular gathering of employer/work-placement feedback to ensure satisfaction levels are high and learner engagement is maintained.
* Ongoing curriculum review to ensure it is innovative and engaging providing impact
* Ensure English, Maths and ICT is embedded into the curriculum
* Use of the college ProSuite systems to evidence and log all learning interventions, demonstrating the ongoing progress of each learner throughout their programme duration.
* To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning carried out by the course team.
* Working with college and strand specialist IQA to establish and ensure high quality internal pre gateway and qualification checks are carried out regularly.
* Maintain accurate records of learner assessments and achievements and that these link across all aspects of delivery
* To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade C or above
* A nationally recognised qualification, at least to level 3, or equivalent, in an Electrical discipline.
* 18th Edition, 2nd Amendment qualification
* TAQA Assessor Award (or willing to work towards)
* Teaching Qualification (or willing to work towards)
* Safeguarding & Prevent Level 1 certificate or willingness to work towards this
* Full UK Driving Licence and use of own vehicle
