About The Keil Centre
The Keil Centre is an employee-owned, small and successful psychology consultancy with offices in Edinburgh and Australia. We have been in business for over 40 years, working with clients across the globe, and with a strong reputation for offering high-quality, evidence-based solutions with sustainable impact. We currently employ 23 people – 11 professional fee-earning consultancy staff and 12 support team members. You can find out more about our work here.
Role detail
The Keil Centre is a small but busy consultancy; we have offices in the UK and Australia and our consultants regularly work across the globe. Our financial operations require an experienced Financial Controller who is able to both get ‘stuck in’ with the everyday and also provide a more strategic support to the Board on financial matters.
The finance team is small – there is a Financial Controller supported by a part-time Financial Officer – but this team is key to the financial performance of the business. There is also great potential for the new Financial Controller and the wider finance team to challenge and evolve our practice and financial strategy.
The main duties therefore include the following:
Day-to-Day company financial operations, such as:
* Monthly and annual accounting, invoicing and reporting for both UK (head office) and Australia-based businesses;
* General banking & petty cash; payroll processing, and discharge of appropriate RTI obligation;
* Developing, maintaining and overseeing policies and procedures that relate to the company’s finances;
Strategic financial support to the company and the Board, such as:
* Providing financial analysis and support to the Board, including investment appraisals, pricing decisions, and cost analysis.
* Providing expert advice to the Board on tax, pensions and other financial matters and/or sourcing and liaising with expert advisor/s when needed.
This role can offer a suitable qualified, experienced and motivated individual the ability to work at the heart of a busy consultancy. The Financial Controller is a key individual, with the ability to influence both the efficient and profitable running of day-to-day business, as well as the strategy for the company overall. We see the next few years as an opportunity to grow our business, increase our profitability and the Financial Controller will need to play a key part in this journey.
This role would particularly suit individuals who are able to apply a highly systematic and structured approach to our current financial processes and systems, whilst also bringing fresh insight or perspective, helping us to continually evolve and improve the way we manage our finances.
