A growing research and development organisation are looking to appoint an experienced HSE Coordinator to join their business on a permanent basis, located in South Yorkshire.
Your new role
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the health and safety compliance across a number of sites along with the facilities management and maintenance requirements for the business.
You will be responsible for overseeing all sites in Sheffield and required to travel once a month to manage a site in the South. Travel expenses will be paid for.
You will liaise closely with landlords, build excellent working relationships and be the first point of contact for all contracts, ensuring the work of contractors is managed accordingly. You will be responsible for all facilities and maintenance requirements, reporting on KPI's and providing cost forecasts.
You will manage the maintenance standard operating procedures (SOP's) including spare parts availability, maintenance logs and documentation and support in all planning and procuring of equipment when needed for sites.
Conduct regular inspections and audits, working closely with the Operational Lead to escalate any issues when necessary, maintain the health and safety reporting system and attend monthly HSE meetings. You will also carry out audits at all sites.
Support and guide on all wellbeing and health and safety matters. Investigate all accidents and incidents, identifying causes and implementing corrective actions.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience working in a HSE and facilities role is essential, with a strong understanding of safe systems of work and regulations. An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is essential.
You will have 3+ years experience of facilities management systems and practices as well as experience of regular reporting and be able to schedule planned maintenance contracts and compliance testing for the organisation.
