As an Assistant Claims Manager, you will be responsible for managing a small claims team within the motor claims department and providing support to the Motor Claims Manager in the day-to-day running of the team including incoming work and resource allocation, engagement with the Underwriters and other Stakeholders attached to the Motor Claims portfolio. You will pro-actively manage a small claims caseload and provide guidance, instruction, and clear development pathways to direct reports.
Key to success is collaboration. Working with Claims Leadership, including AXA Group Management, Claims Handlers, Underwriters, Actuaries, Legal, CDAG, and other departments, you will need to deliver the best customer experience, internally and externally.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Managing own caseload of complex claims in accordance with the global guidelines.
2. Oversight, guidance, and development of team members and direct reports, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving, and resolution of International Casualty Claims.
3. Management and oversight of key partners, ensuring quality of service in all jurisdictions and compliance with contractual obligations.
4. Stakeholder management related to the Delegated Book – CDAG and TPA audit team included.
5. Management and oversight of partners in all jurisdictions, including Adjusters, Lawyers, and other experts, ensuring service level commitments are met.
6. Manage your own portfolio of claims and oversee those of your direct reports, including trend analysis and reporting.
7. Assist the Motor Claims Management Team with strategic relationships with Brokers, clients, Actuaries, and Underwriters.
8. Work with the Delegated team on deliverables for Group Standard requirements.
9. Continue to enhance relationships with delegated partners to ensure service delivery.
10. Support underwriting teams with claim trends, marketing, and business development activities.
11. Review, evaluate, and manage external vendor relationships by portfolio.
12. Maintain necessary reporting and controls across the team.
13. Manage workload and resource allocation across direct reports.
14. Assist Motor Claims Manager with key initiatives within product line.
15. Participate in the Quality Review Process for area of responsibility.
16. Provide superior customer service to policyholders and brokers.
17. Focus on direct reports' performance, development, and success.
18. Validate and authorize absence on the team during Manager’s absence.
You will report to the Motor Claims Manager.
Qualifications:
1. ACII or Bachelor’s degree desired but not essential.
2. Experience in handling Accident Damage and Third Party Property Damage.
3. Good knowledge of the UK legal framework.
4. Experience implementing new market initiatives.
5. Project management and performance delivery experience.
6. Excellent communication skills at all levels.
7. Ability to manage resources and team workload allocation.
