Since 2000, the Saracens Foundation has been delivering impactful community projects across Hertfordshire and North London, using sport to transform lives. Our mission is to create opportunities for individuals to live active, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
About the Role
As a Women & Girls Project Officer, you will lead our Empower Her Project, aimed at mentoring and developing young women (aged 16-24) who aspire to have careers in sport. You will coordinate mentorship programs, facilitate workshops, and support participants in gaining valuable career experience. Additionally, you will help young women design and execute an inspirational campaign that tackles key barriers for women in sport.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead a mentoring project connecting aspiring young women in sport with experienced industry professionals.
2. Facilitate the creation and execution of a youth-led campaign on gender-related challenges in sport.
3. Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation strategy to measure project success.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Coordinate with the wider Foundation team to ensure high-quality program delivery.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an energetic, motivated individual who is passionate about championing women in sport. The ideal candidate will have:
1. A strong understanding of the current challenges faced by women in the sporting industry.
2. Knowledge of sport and employability landscapes.
3. A passion for sport as a tool for social change.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster strong mentor-mentee relationships.
5. Good organisation and time management skills.
6. Strong ICT and communication abilities.
7. England Rugby Coaching Award Level 2 (or equivalent).
8. Experience or qualifications in mentoring young people.
9. Knowledge of career development and employability skills.
