About the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll and Benefits Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Assistant Group Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality payroll and pension service. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while providing excellent support to employees and managers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process monthly payroll, including claim forms, expenses, starters, leavers, and salary changes
2. Administer pension schemes (LGPS, TPS, and NEST), ensuring compliance with regulations
3. Manage statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and SPP
4. Conduct payroll reconciliations, process deductions, and handle salary adjustments
5. Respond to payroll and benefits queries, ensuring a high level of customer service
6. Assist with HMRC and pension submissions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
7. Stay up to date with payroll and pension legislation, ensuring compliance
About You
We are looking for someone with:
* Previous experience in payroll administration
* Strong knowledge of HR or payroll policies, with experience in iTrent (preferred)
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* A proactive approach to work and the ability to manage deadlines
* Good knowledge of GDPR and data confidentiality principles
