We are looking for a Pensions Implementation Manager to join Capita on a permanent basis. This role will be part of the Configuration Teams within the Implementation Department, responsible for implementing first-class pension administration solutions for our new and existing clients. Our projects range from large blue-chip strategic transformational deliveries to small bespoke client solutions. This role can be fully remote.
Experience:
1. Management skills
2. Pension calculation configuration and/or testing of calculations
3. Strong background in pensions and pensions legislation
4. Good understanding of public sector pensions
5. Defined Benefit knowledge
6. Senior configuration consultant/analyst considered; management background is ideal but not necessary
Job Description:
You will manage your specific Implementation Team, ensuring all people management tasks are carried out appropriately and that staff are developed, mentored, and trained as required. Along with team management responsibilities, you will review all project and team documentation for quality standards, ensure process changes are incorporated, and liaise with Programme/Project Managers to facilitate project deadlines and timescales.
What you'll be doing:
1. Management and development of assigned staff.
2. Ensure successful project delivery with no penalties incurred.
3. Deliver new client implementations on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
4. Support and develop team/staff to enable client service excellence and create innovative solutions.
5. Own and promote best practices within the team and oversee/sign off process improvements.
6. Review and agree project plans for identification and mitigation of risks and issues.
7. Support Programme/Project Managers in steering projects to successful closure and influence approach for all project deliverables, ensuring all projects are resourced appropriately and escalating where necessary.
What we are looking for:
1. Strong technical pensions knowledge in DB schemes and the ability to explain complex matters.
2. Operations background with management and/or leadership skills.
3. Experience in client interaction and dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Evidence of previous project implementation experience.
5. Able to analyze requirements to ensure outputs are fit for purpose.
6. Up to date with legislation and policy changes that affect pensions, considering the impact on Implementation processes.
7. Detailed understanding of DB, DC, CARE, and Annuities, their administration, and system & process implications.
8. Commitment to providing quality service with error identification as part of the checking and sign-off process.
For an IM role in the Config Team, you will also need to have experience with:
1. System Testing and/or User Acceptance Testing: Understanding the purpose of calculation proformas, Benefit Basis, Benefit Specifications, scenario matrices, test plans, Calculation Specifications, system debugs, and root cause analysis and triage processes.
2. Familiarity with member records and their setup. Ability to run member quotes and events for various calculations, as well as bulk quotes and events.
