Job summary
The Dementia Activity Coordinator is a key member of the dementia team that will support the development, planning, coordination and delivery of our diverse dementia friendly day sessions. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone with a passion for improving the quality of life and experiences of those living with dementia and their family caregivers.
Main duties of the job
As the Activity Coordinator, you will work within the dementia service as part of the Compassionate Community Team. The role involves travel within the St. Marys Hospice geographic and you will have an understanding of the unique needs of each community. You will deliver specialist, therapeutic activity which aims to enable and empower people living with dementia at different stages of their lifespan, and from a wide range of backgrounds. You will utilise community assets and embrace integrated working practices to provide a high-quality, sustainable service which focuses on developing skills, knowledge and social networks. The role involves contact on a physical, psychological, spiritual and emotional level and you will need to be a skilled communicator. You will undertake a range of Activity Coordinator tasks and administrative duties and will be accountable to the Admiral Nurse.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Activity Coordinator or Health Care Assistant who is passionate about delivering meaningful, person-centered activities for individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. Your dedication will help us enhance our day service in Ulverston and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic about palliative and dementia care, and proficient in using IT.
We are a small, friendly hospice located on the southern edge of the stunning Lake District. This role is primarily site-based, with limited opportunities for home working.
