About the role
As an Assistant Buyer, you will support the Buyer Team in delivering industry-leading ranges of products, priced and promoted accordingly. You'll need to work cross-functionally with various teams to provide insights on how to deliver the best value to maximize stock turn and store operations to deliver best-in-class channel execution.
Key Accountabilities
1. Implement effective category strategies in terms of managing the supply base, buying, ranging, margin mix, promotional framework, merchandising, planning, and stock management, ensuring a true multi-channel approach is taken.
2. Monitor and manage the ongoing trading performance of the category, ensuring we plan and forecast rigorously, to allow us to deliver our revenue, margin, profit, and market share ambitions.
3. Drive procurement benefits through developing supplier partnerships and buying alliances.
4. Capture data and set up products accurately and on time.
5. Monitor and manage the customer experience measures, ensuring tactical interventions are implemented where appropriate.
6. Work with the channel and operational teams to ensure we are maximizing the trading opportunities available.
7. Product expert—working with the proposition team, procurement function, and suppliers to ensure we have the best range sourced with the most beneficial financials.
