Role Overview: Hill Residential is seeking an experienced and proactive Development Manager to lead the acquisition, planning, and delivery of residential development projects. You’ll play a key role in overseeing the entire development process, from land acquisition and planning through to project delivery, ensuring high-quality, profitable outcomes that align with Hill Residential’s ambitious goals. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead the development process from land acquisition to site commencement, ensuring projects meet targets, deadlines, and budget. Oversee planning applications, securing detailed planning consent and ensuring timely execution of construction programmes. Coordinate and manage internal and external teams, including consultants and contractors, to ensure smooth project delivery. Financial & Legal Management: Conduct market research and financial appraisals to assess land acquisition opportunities. Manage consultant budgets, appraisals, and financial viability studies. Work closely with the Finance and Development Directors to secure funding, prepare cash flow forecasts, and ensure financial success. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Represent Hill Residential at meetings with external stakeholders, including planning authorities, landowners, and clients. Mentor and support junior team members, helping to develop their skills and guide them through their professional growth. Collaborate closely with internal teams, ensuring alignment and timely delivery of all project milestones. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all projects meet Hill Residential’s quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to ensure project success. Success Measures: Successful delivery of residential development projects on time and within budget. High-quality financial appraisals and project reports. Effective collaboration with internal and external teams, achieving targets and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders. Skills & Experience: Degree in Land Management, Planning, or a related field. Member or working towards membership of RICS or RPTI. Strong experience in managing residential development projects from acquisition to delivery. Excellent project management, financial acumen, and communication skills.
