Summary of the Role:
As a Control & Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe delivery of control system and instrumentation aspects of plant improvement projects, providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions. You will also be tasked with maintaining and enhancing existing control systems and networks, ensuring the implementation of security measures against cyber-attacks.

Key Accountabilities:
* Deliver compliance in project delivery
* Develop and implement the Engineering strategy for the power station.
* Support the Team Manager to deliver the Business Plan, providing a key contribution to the development of strategies to maintain and improve availability and efficiency of the plant.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the team/contractors
* As the subject matter expert, you are accountable for conceiving, developing and implementing plant improvements to reduce costs and improve security and reliability.
* Work collaboratively with other plant areas, and external bodies including suppliers, contractors and business functions to ensure the reliability and efficiency of Drax Power Station is maintained.
* Contract management responsibilities including specification of work, risk assessment, and supervision of contractor work
* Set and review multiple budgets and manage costs
* Lead and contribute to projects associated with the security, reliability and improvement of plant area equipment including those associated with engineering changes due to obsolescence, defect reduction and other causes.
* Carry out scheme appraisals and assessments on prospective projects.
* Implement project management best practices and ensure correct engineering standards are applied.
* Must have relevant Control & Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic or Software Engineering qualifications to minimum HND level.
* Must have previous experience of working in a technical role in either electrical or control and instrumentation discipline.
* A project execution background with experience of plant-based control systems and instrumentation design and installation.
* Able to lead and support projects through lifecycle including justification, design, implementation, commissioning and close out
* Detailed knowledge of managing contractors and have the skills and ability to lead a team.
* Experience of managing multiple OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
* Experience of managing multiple contracts as a contract owner.
* Knowledge of NIS regulations and IEC 62443
* Experience of designing, installing and modifying plant protection systems and safety systems developed under IEC61508 and IEC61511
